Is Seattle Doomed!

The Seattle Seahawks announced today vice president of player personnel Ruston Webster is leaving to join the Tennessee Titans in a similar job. Also, Scott Fitterer has been promoted to director of college scouting and Eric Stokes to assistant director.

Is this the doom of the Seahawks this season or is a start of a wonderful season?

With the additions of talented player I believe this is a start to a wonderful season.

Here’s some info provided by the team’s web site:

Fitterer joined the Seahawks in 2001 as an area scout and was western region director the past five seasons. Stokes has been with the Seahawks for 11 years. A fifth-round draft choice in 1997, he played two seasons. He then served three years as a pro personnel assistant and spent the past six in the scouting department.

“We are very excited to expand the roles and responsibilities of both Scott and Eric,” GM John Schneider said in a statement released by the team. “Both men place great importance on the value of hard work and share a strong passion for the game and the Seahawks. They are highly qualified and these are well-deserved promotions.”Webster came to the Seahawks in 2006 after spending 18 years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he worked with former Seahawks president Tim Ruskell.

“On behalf of Mr. Allen, Tod Leiweke, Coach Carroll and the entire Seahawks family, I want to wish Ruston Webster, his wife Gayle and their family the best in their new endeavor with the Tennessee Titans,” Schneider said, referring to team owner Paul Allen and the club CEO.

“They are a great family and will be missed by the Seattle community. I personally want to thank Ruston for all of the hard work prior to the 2010 draft, as well as previous drafts with Tim Ruskell. Not only are the Titans getting an excellent football person, they are getting an even more impressive individual.”
