Seattle Seahawks Makes the Playoff

With a 4-12 record the Seahawks 2008 season was nothing short of a major disappointment. The following season was a disappointment with a record of 5-11. With the additions of a excellent staff and several talented players such as Lendale White,Golden Tate,Leon Washington and much more.

I expected the Seattle Seahawks to make a playoff run in 2010 only if these question marks can come together (and by that I mean if this renewed coaching staff can light a fire under some asses) than I’ll be far more likely to turn on sports center this year after a Seahawks game, hoping I won’t have to see another mark in the L column.

Do not despair, there have been some good moves to accompany the questionable ones, like the signing of Housh-somethin-somethin, C Cole, and a couple of backup / role players, of drafting A Curry, M Unger, and D Butler, and of picking up the Broncos 2010 first rounder.

Some would call this a success, but with an aging O Line and a Secondary that (minus M Trufant) has been toast there is still some work to be done. So, here is my best case scenario for the Seattle Seahawks 2010 offseason.

Here’s my quick breakdown of each game and whether or not I expect us to win or lose.

San Francisco

With the Cardinals falling apart and breaking in a new quarterback to be their future longtime starter, these guys are likely going to be the favorites in the division. I don’t see us winning this game 12th Man.

Loss

Denver

We may have stolen their first rounder from them, With the Quartback situation in Denver I see us winning this one Seahawks start out 1-1, surprising no one.

Win

St. Louis

We have won the last ten matchups and I don’t see anything changing.

Seahawks start out 2-1

Win

Chicago

This is a tough one. We played them straight up with eight starters hurt last year, and would have probably won with Hasselbeck at the helm. I think the Seahawks can win this one.

Seahawks start out 3-1

Win

Arizona

This game will likely come down to the performance of Matt Lienart, making this one another tough call, even with all of their off season losses. I still think they’re the better team, and I see them taking their fifth in a row against us.

Seahawks start out 3-2

Loss

Oakland

The Seahawks smash the Raiders after going 1-4 to start the year and this serves as a refreshing win against the NFL’s most dysfunctional Franchise.

Seahawks start out 4-2

Win

Giants

I have to have one surprise lose here, and the Seahawks have not lost to the Giants at home in almost 30 seasons but it’s a new coach. Matt Hasselbeck carries this squad but lose in the fourth quarter.

Seahawks start out 4-3

Loss

Arizona

This late in the season injuries can take their toll, depending on how healthy both teams are, this could be an interesting game.

Seahawks start out 4-3

W/L, I see them splitting the season series with either the Cardinals or the 49ers.

New Orleans

Enough said.

Seahawks start out 4-4

Loss

Kansas City Chiefs

The Seahawks pummeled Kansas City with the running game.

Seahawks start out 5-4

Win

Carolina

Jonathan Stewart has a good homecoming to the northwest carving up the team he used to watch as a kid.

Loss

San Francisco

Like I said above, I expect the Seahawks to win one game against either the 49ers or Cardinals.

W/L

Atlanta

This offense is going to steamroll us.

Loss

Tampa Bay

Sitting at 4-10, the Seahawks will likely take one of the last two against the, (even more), lowly Buc’s or Rams.

W/L

Rams

See above.

W/L

Final record, 9-7. Will make The Playoffs
